In an effort to promote sustainable development, JAN'S HAVEN has identified two key focuses:

 

1: Specialized vocational training in the areas of renewable energy, earth-friendly building, organic farming, community development, and repurposing. Teens are exposed to hands-on learning from professionals in these sectors.

2: Life Skills development for teens which is crucial for their growth and future success.

 - Communication Skills: Develop clear expression, active listening, and effective oral and written skills.

​

 - Critical Thinking: Foster independent problem-solving skills through analysis and informed decision-making.

​

 - Financial Literacy:  Encourage budgeting, saving, investing, and financial management for future financial independence.

 - Time Management: Guide in task prioritization, goal setting, and time management for balancing responsibilities.

​

 - Self-Confidence: Help build self-esteem and confidence to navigate challenges with resilience.
 

 - Emotional Intelligence: Assist in developing empathy, self-awareness, and coping skills for managing stress and relationships.

 

 - Decision Making: Guide them in making responsible decisions by weighing options, considering consequences, and understanding values and ethics.

 - Problem Solving: Promote creative problem-solving with resilience and adaptability for independent solutions.

 

 - Interpersonal Skills: Nurture collaboration, negotiation, and effective teamwork for positive relationships.

 

 - Digital Literacy: Teach online safety, responsible tech use, and critical digital evaluation of digital information in today's digital world.

 

Key components embedded in each program design include Volunteerism, Emergency Management, Healthy Relationship Building, and Financial Literacy. Strengthening students' character, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills is fundamental to equipping generations of students to become change agents in driving prosperity for all.
